
Unless you want to push the boat out and go to Auberge de l’Eclade in Menesplet (under new ownership and with some dodgy recent reviews), the best local restaurant is L’un des Sens (formerly Hotel de Commerce) in nearby Villefranche de Lonchat.

Sandwich with Parmesan cheese, root vegetables, St Jacques snacked, lemon grass mesclun (Provençale salad with young leaves)
Carpaccio of lukewarm monkfish, virgin herb sauce, grape mustard ice cream
Rosette of rabbit with pesto and black olives, crunch of artichoke and bean, diced mustard

Tournedos of beef stuffed with pan fried foie gras, turmeric meat juice, seasonal vegetables
Filet of pan-fried veal, Vadouvan juice (French derivative of masala), turnip stew
Monkfish roast with ham Vendéen (part of the leg from a free range single pig with the ham equivalent of an appellation controlee), green cabbage with smoked bacon, potimarron (red kuri squash) juice

Echourgnac Trappe Eel, Spanish Melon Jam
Croustillant of Cabécou du Périgord, salad with walnut oil and hazelnuts

Pineapple with tarragon and Tonka bean, crunched with coconut milk
