One of the highlights of my last visit to the house a couple of weeks ago was to see Red Kites hovering over the field beyond the pool. There were three of them as I was jet washing around the pool and I hope that I can get a picture as good as this.

It’s also green tree frogs time. The noise starts at dusk and achieves a crescendo at about 11.00 p.m. Presumably it’s the mating season and I tracked down one at the end of the pool near the table and another at the other end near the pump and the loungers. I know from previous years that they’ll also start climbing up the wall, hopefully when I next visit.

The lizards are also out in the sun and enjoying the sun at the front of the house. There’s a mix of common and wall lizards and they rarely move near to the pool. Just as well because, if they do, they tend to turn up in the pool filter!
