Here’s a rundown of the events at St Martin which have been lined up by Stephane for the next few months. There are additional events organised by the village but Stephane seems to have quite enough to be going on with.

• 17 May – brocante (car boot sale)
• 27 May – petanque competition (boules)
• 8 June – Indian night
• 10 June – vide greniers (flea market)
• 21 June – live music for the national fete de la musique followed by an 80s disco!
• 13 July – night market
• 21 July – live music
• 27 July – Italian night
• 14 August – night market
• 24 August – Mexican night

In addition from 28 July to 10 August the commune has organised a festival des cantes. As far as I can make out, this seems to be a free singers’ event in that people can turn up and sing whatever they want. Seems about right for me!
