Here is tonight’s wine. After an extended visit to Le Petit Gurson (delayed watching wedding party in the village and enjoying several Stellas) so palate (and judgement!) may be impaired! Comments to follow.

Well, this has the look of a Beaujolais so the taste is a real surprise. Bouquet average, surprisingly mature and definitely drinking now. Still fruity and easily the most complex tried yet in this batch. Complexity is surprising given that this is 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13%. “du Bois” is appropriate because this is clearly a fruits of the forest drink. The smoothness of the Merlot is apparent a few minutes after opening. Comfortably the best so far and very good value for the money. MCM rating 4/5.

I threw away half of yesterday evening’s wine. I’ll enjoy all of this one – miles better.
