The Lac de Gurson is a really useful facility near the house (through St Martin and Carsac de Gurson and turn right – 5 minutes).
There is a large man-made beach replete with beach bars selling drinks and snacks and an 11 hectare lake with a supervised swimming area. There are facilities for horse riding and tennis and a couple of pleasant and reasonably cheap lakeside restaurants. The walk round the lake takes about an hour and is a pleasant diversion all year round (it’s very peaceful out of season).
Highly recommended for a lazy day if the weather’s good.
