If you are staying for anything more than a weekend then, in my view, Bazas is well worth a visit.

It’s is the home of possibly the best beef in Europe. The local cattle have been specific to the area since the Middle Ages.

You can visit the famous butcher in the square and have lunch with the local beef for the main course at several decent and good value restaurants in the town centre.

The cathedral is also well worth a visit.
